Muffin top which usually refers to the roll of fat that overflows out of the top of low-cut or too-tight jeans finally made it to be included to the Oxford English Dictionary (OED), international news reported.

The addition of new terms to the latest edition of OED was published on Thursday, March 24, 2011.

According to reports, about 900 new words and meanings were included in the new update of Oxford English Dictionary. Some of the addition were internet-inspired expressions and other popular terms such as LOL which means “laughing out loud“, OMG! short for “Oh my God or Oh my goodness“, TMI or “too much information” and FYI which means “for your information“.

Graeme Diamond, one of the dictionary’s editors said that “The intention is usually to signal an informal, gossipy mode of expression, and perhaps parody the level of unreflective enthusiasm or overstatement that can sometimes appear in online discourse, while at the same time marking oneself as an ‘insider’ au fait with the forms of expression associated with the latest technology.”
