According to the latest update of CNN on Thursday, October 20, 2011, an unconfirmed report from Libya is saying that Gaddafi was killed after he was captured by NTC.

On the other hand, a NTC military spokesman denied to CNN that Gadhafi was captured or dead. Libyan Information Minister Mahmoud Shammam earlier confirmed that a ‘big fish’ was captured.

Apparently, CNN showed during a live TV report a photo of a bloody face of someone who looks like Gaddafi, and was said to have been sourced by AFP news agency.

CNN admitted that the said photo has not been authenticated and cleared that none of the reports could be independently verified as of this moment. NATO and the US government also did not confirm the reports.

Nevertheless, Libyan revolutionary fighters, who claimed that they have already seized Sirte, Gaddafi‘s hometown, are now celebrating in the streets upon hearing the news about Gaddafi‘s death.

Meanwhile, a press conference by the NTC is being expected hours from now announcing the latest report about the deposed Libyan leader.
