Ms America Alexandria Mills won the Miss World 2010, winning over more than a hundred hopeful candidates all over the world.

The two-hour competition, which took place in Hainan, China on Saturday night, was said to have witnessed about one billion TV viewers around the world.

The 18-year old Miss America, who was crowned as Miss World 2010, was said to have just graduated in high school.

Miss America was joined by Miss China, Miss Botswana, Miss Ireland, and Miss Venezuela on the top five candidates.

Meanwhile, Emma Wareus from Botswanna, won as 2nd place, with Adriana Vasini from Venezuela, finishing the 3rd spot.

Alexandria Mills, a resident of Kentucky, was crying with joy as outgoing Miss World 2009 Kaiane Aldorino of Gibraltar placed the crown on her head and guided her to a diamond-shaped throne that symbolizes the 60th anniversary of the prestigious beauty pageant.

The juries of the pageant were its former winners, which includes Miss World 1953 Denise Perrier Lanfranchi, Miss World 1964 Ann Sidney, Miss World 1977 Mary Stävin, Miss World 2001 Agbani Darego, and Miss World 2004 Maria Julia Mantilla.
