Mountain Dew breakfast drink Kickstart introduced, to be available this coming February 25

PepsiCo introduced on Monday, February 11, 2013 its new Mountain Dew breakfast drink called Kickstart, which was dubbed as an entirely new sparkling juice beverage that can be included in the daily morning routine. Kickstart will be available in two flavors, Orange Citrus and Fruit Punch.

According to a press release by PepsiCo that day, this new Mountain Dew breakfast drink will be offered via an 80-calories per 16 oz. can. It will combine the taste of Mountain Dew with five percent real fruit juice and just sufficient amount of caffeine, offering an alternative to the usual morning choices of “coffee or juice.”

“Our consumers told us they are looking for an alternative to traditional morning beverages – one that tastes great, includes real fruit juice and has just the right amount of kick to help them start their days.” Greg Lyons, Vice President, Marketing, Mountain Dew, was quoted at

“We heard them loud and clear and created a completely new offering with Kickstart to give them exactly what they asked for.” Lyons added.

As noted in the announcement, Mountain Dew‘s Kickstart will be available in retail stores across the US starting Monday, February 25, 2013. But before the actual launch, early birds who visited were given a can each. Unfortunately, this offer is not available anymore.

Nevertheless, Mountain Dew fans are being encouraged to submit a photo of themselves with a Kickstart can in hand, and enjoying their morning with the new Mountain Dew breakfast drink, and will have a chance to be included in a “Chasing Sunrise” anthem video.
