Providing the most reliable cars is now the main focus of manufacturers as US regulators puts emphasis on highway crash reduction.

Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW) and Daimler AG started using automatic brakes according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
Reports say that the use of automatic brakes will reduce front-end crashes.
Top car models like the BMW 5-Series and Daimler Mercedes-Benz E-Class provide safety features that include sensors, cameras and lasers. These will enable the car to detect possible collision and slow down the car.
Safety now comes as a standard feature of cars which has been an optional package in previous years.
David Zuby, executive vice president and chief research officer at Arlington, Virginia-based IIHS explained that “Reducing the speed reduces the amount of damage that occurs to both the striking and struck cars and reduces injuries to people in those cars.”
