Most Dangerous City In The US Is St. Louis, Missouri Says CQ Press

According to a press release from CQ Press dated November 22, 2010, St. Louis, Missouri has the highest crime rate ranking in their annual publication entitled City Crime Rankings 2010-2011: Crime in Metropolitan America.

St. Louis had the second highest rate of violent crime last year. It is on the top spot with an average of 2070.1 violent crimes per 100,000 population, compared with a national average of only 429.4. Following St. Louis with the highest crime rate ranking are Camden, New Jersey; Detroit, Michigan; Flint, Michigan; and Oakland, California.

On the other end of the list, Colonie, New York tops the list for the second year in a row with the lowest city crime rate ranking in the United States. It had only 61`incidents of violent crime in 2009. Among the cities with the lowest ranking are O’Fallon, Missouri; Ramapo, New York; and Mission Viejo, California.
