Engadget says PlayStation Phone For Real

Engadget had a chance to get hold of the rumored Sony PlayStation Phone Prototype. They have also reported that the Play Station Phone is codenamed “Zeus” .  They have also inform that  handset is running Android 2.2. but apparently there are some prototypes with Android 3.0. The Phone is now under testing with different OS.

The device that they have had an 8GB microSD card slotted, and at least 512MB of internal storage.

The PlayStation phone was thought of being fake by many, but pictures shown by Engadget says that the phone is real. Engadget says that multiple, trusted sources confirmed the reality of this phone.  And some of their information comes from people much more closely connected to the project.

Sony discusses the following their earnings call.

…As for the new PSP product, as mentioned, I know that you are not asking me to tell you when we will be coming out with a new product, but there is a gaming market based on [the] cellphones, and there are many changes that are being seen [with] Nintendo, as well as ourselves, in the field of the product for the gamers. And there are smartphones and others or even cellphones gaming markets are very popular here in japan. So the market itself is very… expanding.

Sony might not directly admit about the PlayStation phone but their message is clear that Sony is interested in the gaming market based on  cellphones. So we will see more features and news about the PlayStation Phone in the future.
