Mohammad El Akkari Scores 113 Points for Moutahed in FIBA Asia Game

Mohammad El Akkari scored 113 points to lead Moutahed to victory over Bejjeh, 173-141 in their Lebanese Division A League Final 8 game on Tuesday, April 4, 2012, according to a report at FIBA Asia website.

The FIBA Asia report say that Akkari‘s score is the first 100-point performance in an official FIBA Asia National Federations game. FIBA Asia website reported that other 100 point performances were made by Lou Salvador who scored 116 points for the Philippines against China in the 1923 Far Eastern Games and Jeron Teng‘s 104 points for Xavier School against Grace Christian College in a High School game in the Philipines.

Akkari made 32 3-pointers in 59 attempts and shot 40-for-69 overall. The 27-year-old Lebanese guard had only one free throw. Before the game, he was averaging 7.6 points in the last 23 games.

Thank God for this performance. I think it’s all a result of my practice.
