Team Lea’s Mitoy Yonting emerged as the very first winner of The Voice of the Philippines during the Grand Finale Showdown at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila in Pasay City on Sunday, September 29, 2013.
Mitoy became the first grand champion of The Voice PH after beating Team Sarah’s Klarisse de Guzman in the grand finals.
During the final showdown Mitoy rendered his version of John Farnham’s “Help” and received 57.65% of the public votes. Klarisse meanwhile performed Leo Valdes’ “Magsimula Ka” and got 42.35% for her final performance.
Team Apl’s Janice Javier got 30.56% of the public votes to earn third place. Team Bamboo’s Myk Perez, who lagged behind in public votes with only 12.81%, was in fourth place.
For being the first Voice of the Philippines, Mitoy received a P2 million grand prize, a brand new car, a recording contract with MCA Music and an Asian tour.
Shane Filan, former lead vocalist of international singing boy band Westlife was a special guest during the Grand Finals of The Voice of the Philippines. Filan sang Fool Again with Klarisse and Janice and Uptown Girl with Myk and Mitoy.
