Missouri Election Results 2012: Missouri Governor Jay Nixon won re-election

Latest 2012 US Election results showed that Missouri Governor Jay Nixon won his re-election bid on Tuesday, November 6, 2012.

On Tuesday’s Election Day, Nixon reportedly became the first Missouri governor to win a second term since 1996.

The Democrat Governor defeated Republican nominee and St. Louis businessman Dave Spence. Nixon garnered 52.7 percent against Spence‘s 44.6 percent.

Nixon was a former Missouri Attorney General before winning his first term as Governor of the state in 2008.

Spence reportedly spent several million dollars in his campaign.

Other Missouri candidates for Governor include Jim Higgins, Leonard Steinman and Ronald E. Levy.

Missouri is previously considered as a swing state during US elections.
