As noted by Miramax on their official blog, the movie studio that released films such as Good Will Hunting and Pulp Fiction launched its Facebook app called “The Miramax Experience”.

“We are big believers in Facebook and what it could mean for the future of the content business.” Miramax said on their announcement, with the Facebook page now having nearly 17,000 “Likes”.

“Our goal with the Miramax App is to offer consumers a great user experience where they can watch movie clips and feature length films, play games and share the experience with their friends within the Facebook community.” Miramax added.

“In addition, you’ll notice we launched the App first with just rental VOD — but our ultimate goal is to give consumers the opportunity to buy films and store them in their own cloud-based digital locker.” Miramax explained.

The Miramax Facebook app, which is still on Beta and supported by online video platform Ooyala and AllDigital, allow users to view Miramax films on various devices such as any PC, smartphone, iPad or TV.

Miramax, which thanked Facebook for being their partner, noted that they plan to reach 150 million+ Facebook friends within the next 18 months.
