MinneapolisMetrodome roof collapsed on Sunday due to heavy snow wherein the NFL match between the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings was supposed to be held last Saturday, as reported by US news sites. A YouTube video is also available below.

Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission Chairman Roy Terwilliger told the news that the roof of the Metrodome started to give in early in the morning and eventually collapse when it cannot take the weight of the snow on top of it.

As of this writing, no schedule of repair was mentioned and is still under thorough investigation and assessment.

It was reported earlier that the Giants vs Viking football match was moved from Saturday to Monday and the venue will be on Kansas City instead of the original plan which should be at Metrodome.

St. Paul Airport in Minneapolis was declared closed as of 11:30 a.m. Central time on Saturday due to the snow storm wherein most flights has been canceled including that of the New York Giants.
