Michael J. Fox’s Marty McFly Shoes, 1st Pair Sold for $37,500 to British Rapper Tinie Tempah

Michael J. Fox’s Marty McFly shoes, which were made by Nike, sold its 1st pair for $37,500 in an auction held at Los Angeles to British rapper Tinie Tempah. This is according to TMZ, September 9, 2011.

Reportedly, Tinie Tempah is a popular rapper with his single ‘’Pass Out’’ in 2010, entering the UK Singles Chart at number 1, and had stayed there for two weeks. Tempah’s single ‘Written in the Stars’ is also becoming popular.

Further reports revealed that at first, the winning bidder’s identity was unknown, until TMZ spoke with Tempah’s rep. Tempah was also given a “plutonium case” to keep his Marty McFly shoes.

Michael J. Fox starred in the popular ‘Back to the Future ‘’ trilogy that had featured the same type of shoes.

Fox has established ‘The Michael J. Fox Foundation’ to help people with Parkinson’s disease through researches about embryonic stem cells, Fox having been diagnosed with the same condition.

The proceeds of the auction of the Marty McFly shoes will be donated to ‘The Michael J. Fox Foundation.’
