This was revealed by Chot Reyes on his Twitter account on Saturday morning after Martinez finished 19th in the medal tally of the men’s figure skating competition. Martinez brought out his best and inspired the whole nation on his final performance on the competition, garnering a score of 119.44 on the judges’ score cards.

“Just emailed Mrs. Martinez that MVPSF (Manny V. Pangilinan Sports Foundation) at request of @iamMVP (Manny V. Pangilinan) has authorized a bonus of US$10k in recognition of Michael’s historic performance,” Reyes tweeted.

Martinez‘s family’s house was mortgaged to support him financially on this competition, reports said. The $10,000 bonus he will receive will be a big help for him and his family.
