Miami Heat vs. New York Knicks: Heat Fails to Sweep Knicks in NBA Playoffs

The New York Knicks avoid the sweep and snapped an NBA-record, 13-game postseason losing streak by beating the Miami Heat, 89-87, in Game 4 of their first-round series on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the Madison Square Garden, New York, NY, according to a report at NBA.com.

Carmelo Anthony scored 41 points and Amare Stoudemire added 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead Knicks to victory over the Heat in Game 4. Anthony shot 15 of 29 from the field and was one point below his playoff career best. He tied the game with a 3-pointer with 54.5 seconds left.

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade combined for 49 points for Miami. Wade missed a 3-pointer with 1.6 seconds left that would have won the game and the NBA Playoffs first round series for the Heat.

The Heat will try to close out their first round series against the Knicks in Game 5 at home on Wednesday.
