Miami Heat has beefed up their roster last summer to be able to return into the NBA Finals, and they did. The Dallas Mavericks however, is preparing for a rematch against Miami after being denied by the Heat in 2006.

According to an report, Dirk Nowitzki and Dallas are getting ready to take on Miami‘s Big Three and the Heat to avenge their loss in the 2006 NBA Finals.

Reports say that the Heat vs Mavericks match up is dubbed as, Miami vs. Dallas: The Rematch. The Mavs has struggled long enough for a return trip to the NBA Finals since losing 4-2 in 2006 against the Heat. The 2006 NBA Finals showdown with the Heat is a painful memory for the Mavericks as they let a 2-0 series advantage slip from them, and failed to hold on to a 13-point lead with five minutes to play in Game 3 of the best-of-seven series.

The Heat has earned their first trip to The Finals in five years with only Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem as the only holdovers from 2006 champion team. They now however boast of a formidable Big Three of Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh.

Statistics show that the Mavericks are ahead of the Heat in the NBA Finals. Dallas are 10-0 against the Heat since losing the 2006 NBA Finals. However, several reports say that the Mavericks are still the underdog in their best-of-seven series against the Heat.

Game 1 will be played on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida. Check out the complete schedule of games of the 2011 NBA Finals here.
