As noted at British news sites that day, Meryl Streep visited London and unveiled the Margaret Thatcher movie poster, where she plays as the former British Prime Minister.

Streep, 62, posed with the local press and uncovered the huge movie poster just across the river from the House of Parliament. The Margaret Thatcher biopic will be shown in the US on December 30, 2011.

“I am happy to be here with my brilliant director, Phyllida Lloyd, and just stopped and give you a preview of what you’ll be so sick looking at all over London soon enough.” Meryl Streep said.

Apparently, the Oscar-award actress had a slight problem when the cord broke while pulling it but quickly ripped the white paper instead, which revealed the movie poster.

Later, the Hollywood legend said she promised to be back in January when the movie opens and thanked everyone. The filming started last January in UK and a movie trailer was released last July.

The film ‘The Iron Lady‘, to be distributed by The Weinstein Company, also casts Olivia Coleman, Richard E. Grant and Jim Broadbent, who will play as Denis Thatcher, Margaret’s late husband.

Meanwhile, Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher is being set to be a strong candidate to win the Best Actress in the Oscars 2012, which will be held on February 26, 2012 and to be hosted by Billy Crystal.
