Mercedes-Benz M-class SUVs has been recalled over complaints that the brakes may not automatically disengage the cruise control and may lead to crash.

Mercedes recall will cover model year 2000-2002 M-class and 2000-2004 M-class AMG vehicles built between August 1999 and June 2004.

According to reports, a global safety recall of about 136,750 Mercedes-Benz will be affected by the recall, but will not affect or will not apply to New Zealand new vehicles. However, there are some imports that may be affected, according to Nicholas Robinson of Mercedes-Benz New Zealand.

The recall was announced by Daimler AG on Tuesday and encourage owners to check their vehicles whether it needed to be recalled by taking it to a Mercedes-Benz dealer.
