According to report by Formula One (F1) on its official website on Monday, December 19, 2011, McLaren will launch the Mercedes-powered MP4-27 on the said date but the location is to be revealed later.

McLaren, a former F1 world champion, was said to be the second team to confirm their 2012 launch date, after Ferrari and Sauber announced earlier that they will launch their C31 in Jerez on February 6, five days later.

McLaren won this year as overall runners-up, after Jenson Button landed second in the F1 championship to Red Bull-Renault‘s double world champion Sebastian Vettel.

“The MP4-27 will break cover on Wednesday February 1 2012. Where? Well, we’re keeping the location close to our collective chests until after the new year!” A statement reads at McLaren.com that day.

“Invitation details for accredited Formula 1 media will be issued in early January, and the MP4-27 will test for the first time at Jerez on February 7-10th.” McLaren added.

Late last month, British Prime Minister David Cameron visited the latest production facility of McLaren in England, where the MP4-27 was dubbed as its new race car.
