The Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley vs Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez bout lasted the full 12 rounds at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas on Saturday, October 13, 2013. After 12-rounds of boxing, Bradley won the match via split decision against Marquez.

Two judges scored the bout with 115-113, each for Marquez and Bradley. However, the third judge gave the American a 116-112 advantage against the Mexican fighter to retain his WBO Welterweight belt.

Due to the split decision, boxing analysts are expecting a rematch between Bradley and Marquez or this may force Marquez to give Manny Pacquiao a fifth matchup. Other observers are also anticipating a Bradley vs Pacquiao 2.

There was not much excitement during the entire match. The crowd even booed both boxers after a round due to very little action. Bradley, however, may have taken his opponent to school as he outboxed Marquez, who is known as a technical boxer.

Marquez was able to outboxed Bradley only in the first round. Round 10 was the only round where both fighters went head to head for a longer time. At the end of the fight, Marquez looks like a worn out fighter compared to Bradley.

The win kept Bradley’s record clean at 31-0, with 12 of his wins via knockouts. The Mexican boxing career record went down to 55-6-1, 40 KOs.
