Marlisa Punzalan Wins “The X Factor Australia”

Marlisa Punzalan was proclaimed the grand winner of “The X Factor Australia” on Monday, October 20, 2014.

Punzalan, a daughter of both Filipino living in Mount Druitt in Sydney, is only 15 years old, making her the youngest champion of the said talent search since 2005.

Irish singer Ronan Keating mentored Punzalan on the show, where she beat Brothers 3 coached by Dannii Minogue; and Dean Ray coached by Natalie Bassingwaighte.

“Thank you so much, everyone who voted and everyone who supported me, thank you so much. I couldn’t have gotten this far without out. Thank you so so so much. I can’t thank you enough. Thank you so much, I love you all!” Punzalan said in her video message to all her fans and supporters.

Punzalan performed three songs during the show’s final round: “Yesterday,” “Never Be The Same” with Jess Mauboy, and her winner’s single, “Stand By You.”
