Mark Jalandoni has resigned as Deputy Ombudsman for Luzon due to several complaints filed against him with the Office of the President, according to reports of several local news sites.

In an interview with ABS-CBN, Assistant Ombudsman Jose de Jesus confirmed that Jalandoni has resigned.

Malacañang Deputy Presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte revealed on Thursday, April 7, 2011, “that there were 3 complaints filed” against Jalandoni.

In a statement, Jalandoni denied all the charges filed against him by Serve the People Movement Incorporated (SPMI), an anti-corruption advocacy group. SPMI has accused Jalandoni of “dishonesty, grave misconduct, falsification of documents.”

Below is Mark Jalandoni‘s statement over the charges that were filed against him.

The charges leveled against me are baseless. However, in order to spare the Office of the Ombudsman from further controversy, I have tendered my irrevocable resignation.
