The Manny Pacquiao vs Sugar Shane Mosley fight which will be on May 7, 2011 is set to be broadcast on TV by CBS-Showtime instead of HBO Sports, which previously aired older fights of the Pinoy boxing superstar.

According to Fanhouse on Friday, Manny Pacquiao’s adviser told them that the upcoming Pacquiao-Mosley WBO welterweight title bout on May 7, 2011 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas is most likely to be broadcast by Showtime at CBS, and not anymore HBO.

Michael Koncz, the Canadian adviser of eight-division world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao was reported to have said that CBS-Showtime will air the Pacquiao-Mosley fight due to wider viewership.

“We’ve worked with HBO for many, many fights, and it’s always great working with them. But, you know, sometimes change is good for everybody involved. So we’re making that change and we’re going on Showtime this time,” Michael Koncz told the report.

“It’s a big benefit for us, economically, and he’s going to be getting wider viewership,” Koncz added.

The news about the negotiation was also reported at BoxingScene.com on the same day, which said that CBS-Showtime’s viewership may reach to 115 million homes as compared to HBO‘s 28 million only.

In addition, other Top Rank key boxers including Miguel Cotto, Juan Manuel Lopez, and Brandon Rios fights this year were also being reported to appear at CBS Showtime.
