Manny Pacquiao to receive 2nd Congressional Medal of Distinction the Highest Award from Congress

Manny Pacquiao earned his 8th world title in eight different weight divisions when he won over Mexican Antonio Margarito via a unanimous 12-round decision. The pound-for-pound King is set to earn a whopping guaranteed fight purse of US$15 million and an estimated US$5 million in pay-per-view (PPV) share, according to international boxing sites.

In the Philippine Congress, Saranggani Representative Manny Pacquiao is set to receive another title from fellow congressmen upon his return. According to international news sites, House Majority Leader Neptali “Boyet” Gonzales II announced that Congressman Pacquiao will receive his second Congressional Medal of Distinction from the House of Representatives. The recognition is the highest award that Pacquiao can receive from Lower House of Congress. The Filipino boxing hero has been given the same award during the 14th Congress.

According to the reports of international news sites, there are already at least 18 resolutions filed in the House of Representatives that seeks to honor Pacquiao.
