Manny Pacquiao, the Filipino boxing superstar and Representative of Sarangani Province, is now thinking of retiring from boxing by next year, according to reports by local news sites on Sunday, February 12, 2012.

Pacquiao is set to fight with American Timothy Bradley Jr. at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on June 9, 2012. The Filipino boxing hero is considering his bout with the undefeated Bradley to be his last fight.

The new pronouncement by Pacquiao has dampened the possibility of the much anticipated future bout against another undefeated American, Floyd Mayweather Jr.. The Pacquiao vs Mayweather bout has never materialized due to disagreement in the division of the fight purse.

The pound-for-pound King explained that, after his retirement from boxing, he will focus on his political plans and his role as Bible ambassador of the Church.
