Manila, Philippines – World boxing champion and Sarangani Congressman Manny Pacquiao was reported to have deleted his Twitter account @CongMP on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, after the said account posted a weird Tweet on Monday night.
According to local news, Pacquiao quits himself from Twitter at around 4:20 p.m. (local time) on Tuesday, as controversy arises when a bizarre post was sent from his account.
“@momblogger e di mag reklamo ka doon sa lolo mo hahahaha thanks” (Go ahead and complain to your grandfather) @CongMP tweeted at 11:35 p.m. on Monday (local time)
“@RAndRat e di mag reklamo ka sa lolo mong panot hahahaha” (Go ahead and complain to your bald grandfather) @CongMP tweeted two minutes later.
But prior to that, Ms. Dado on her Twitter account asked the boxer-congressman why he was absent at the House of Representatives on Monday, after @CongMP tweeted that he was watching the impeachment trial and noting that it is ‘very interesting topic’.
Later, a series of Tweets arrived on @CongMP, including a message that came from @RAndRat, as shown in the screenshot of the tweets sequence below, as presented by Noemi L. Dado.
“@nerveending to hell with @congmp. Why the f**k did you run for congress when you know you’d barely be present? @momblogger”
@RAndRat tweeted the above message, with the F-word uncensored; as Ms. Dado re-tweeted (RT) the above message @CongMP.
Afterward, @CongMP received a lot of criticisms from his online behavior, as some have noted that it should not be the way a highly-congressman should react on comments. Others also demanded that the boxer-politician should be present in Congress doing his job.
Manny Pacquiao is currently in Baguio and preparing for his upcoming fight with Sugar Shane Mosely in Las Vegas this coming May 7, 2011.
As shown in live TV on Monday, congressmen cast their votes on the impeachment complaint against Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez. Earlier, Pacquiao’s Twitter account posted his vote.
“I vote NO! and I can give my explanation thanks” @CongMP tweeted at about 12 midnight on Tuesday, but his vote did not count since he was not present.
However, Manny Pacquiao have not yet confirmed if he was really the one who posted those messages on his Twitter account, in which the last post was a goodbye tweet, announcing that the account will be deleted.
