As described in a report at Los Angeles Times, the new Superman costume looks like it has an armor-like sheen instead of a flat spandex quality, but with the same boots, cape and the trademark ‘S’ on his chest.

“It’s extremely cool. There’s no other feeling like it. They just put it on, I turned around and look in the mirror and you can’t really play it cool – you sort of guffaw and laugh.” Cavill was quoted in a Total Film interview.

“I’m very proud to be British and playing an iconic American superhero…it means I’m doing something right somewhere.” The 28-year old actor added, noting that he is training two and a half hours a day to fit for the role.

Earlier reports revealed that Amy Adams will play as Lois Lane, while Kevin Costner will play Clark Kent‘s adoptive father in the new Superman movie, which is being directed by Zack Snyder.

Meanwhile, Russell Crowe will be Superman‘s Kryptonian father Jor-El and the latest reported cast member is Laurence Fishburne who will play as Perry White, Daily Planet’s editor in chief.
