Malacañang Encouraged Filipinos to Wear Yellow During Manny Pacquiao And Sugar Shane Mosley Fight on Sunday

According to local news report and Abigail Valte’s statement on government-run dzRB radio, Malacañang encouraged Filipinos, on Saturday, May 7,2011 ( Manila Time ), to wear yellow on Sunday as a show of support and unity for Filipino boxing icon and Sarangani Representative Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao during his fight with Sugar Shane Mosley for the World Welterweight Championship title.

Manny Pacquiao, Also known as The Pacman, said in his earlier interview that he will wear yellow gloves during the bout on Sunday (Manila time) as a sign of unity among Filipinos.

However, Malacañang reassured through Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte , that state security forces will remain on alert to stop criminals and terrorists from exploiting Sunday’s “Pacman fever.”. This is a precautionary action amid Filipinos’ expectations of zero crime during Pacquiao’s bouts.
