Magic versus Heat Preseason Game Canceled

One of the most anticipated preseason game, Orlando Magic versus Miami Heat, has been called off due to a slippery court. According to an official statement of the NBA, the MagicHeat preseason game was canceled because of “unsafe playing conditions on the arena floor.” There will be no rescheduling of the game as Miami will be playing the Boston Celtics in four days.

Magic coach Stan Van Gundy and guard Vince Carter questioned the safety of the court during an attempted shootaround practice. The St. Pete Times Forum workers tried to clean up the floor with mops and brooms for several hours. However, the court installed over an NHL ice surface continues to produce moisture, making it unsafe for the players.
