Magic Johnson made a $1m offer to LeBron James, if he will join the 2014 NBA All-Star dunk contest, as shown in the video below. The legendary NBA star announced his lavishing offer to King James during the NBA pre-game telecast at ESPN on Friday, March 2, 2013.

“Please, LeBron, get in the dunk contest. I’m going to put up a million dollars. A million dollars from Magic to LeBron. Please get in the dunk contest. I go every year. I want to see you out there. A million to the winner.” Magic Johnson said, who is also offering the $1 million to anyone who can beat James.

“I’ll say this. LeBron James, Blake Griffin both have to be in it. All-Star-caliber players helping build the league during All-Star weekend.” Jalen Rose told Johnson, who agreed on his statement. James, 28, who won the 2004 Rookie of the Year, has never joined any NBA dunk contest in his entire career.

Back in early February, LeBron James (@KingJames) tweeted, “Dunk contest?” and was retweeted more than 26,500 times. However, LeBron James was not among the participants of the 2013 NBA All-Star dunk contest, which was held on Saturday, February 16. The title was won by Toronto RaptorsTerrence Ross.

Actually, James has been doing some impressive dunks inside the hardcourt, which means winning an NBA dunk contest is likely possible. And with Magic Johnson‘s $1m offer, spectators are now expecting LeBron James to join. After all, $1 million is big enough to add to his reported 2013 salary of around $19 million.
