Lyceum of the Philippines University Autonomous Status renewed

The Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) in Batangas, was granted the Autonomous status last year, October 2009. During the 361st Regular Commission en banc Meeting of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), LPU‘s Autonomous status was renewed for the period October 6, 2010 until October 5, 2014. The decision was made through CHED‘s Board resolution No. 259-2010.

LPU is first school in the region to be granted the Autonomous status by CHED. It is also the first school in the region to be ISO 9001:2008 certified. Last October 15, 2010, LPU was granted by CHED as the first University in the country with Center Of Excellence (COE) in Hotel and Restaurant Management Program and Center Of Development (COD) in Tourism Program.
