LPU will host 1st CALABARZON Regional Folk Dance Workshop

The Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) through the initiative of the Office of Culture & Arts (OOCA) in cooperation with the Philippine Folk Dance Society and Lahing Batangan Dance Troupe will be conducting the 1st CALABARZON Regional Folk Dance Workshop on October 23-24, 2010 at the LPU Freedom Hall, Batangas City.

This workshop aims to properly teach and propagate the dances inherent and native to our region (CALABARZON) including Lanceros de Tayabas, Jota Medelin, Habanera Botoleña and Panderetas among others.

Selected facilitators of the dance workshop are primarily from the PFDS National Office namely Aquilino Santos (PFDS), Franco Velas (TUP and Treasurer-PFDS), Rodel Fronda (LPU and Secretary-PFDS) with the support of the Lahing Batangan Dance Troupe.

This two-day workshop is especially designed for teachers in all levels, members of dance groups, dance trainers, teachers-in-charge of dance groups, directors and choreographers.

A Workshop Fee of ONE THOUSAND PESOS (P 1,000.00) will be charged to cover two (2) meals (lunch), music CD and copies of the Dance Literature to be taught.
