As reported by USA Today, dated May 20, 2011, more than 60 of Elizabeth Taylor’s unpublished lover letters were sold at a Vintage Hollywood auction sponsored by RR Auction for $46,652 this week.

Similarly noted, it further consider how one can possibly put a price on love, particularly on the love of the screen legend who died in March of this current year.

Allegedly, the letters were written when Elizabeth Taylor was just 17 when she was engaged in 1949 to William Pawley Jr., son of the wealthy businessman. Professedly, Taylor and Pawley were engaged for less than a year but never married.

Based from related reports, Bobby Livingston, RR Auction’s VP of Sales and Marketing, expected the success of the sale since it involved a slightly known portion of Elizabeth Taylor’s life.

Reports quoted Bobby Livingston saying, “International media coverage was phenomenal.”; “The world recognized and embraced Taylor and her legacy through this beautiful, untold story.”
