The official longest kiss record belongs to a German couple with 32 hours, 7 minutes and 14 seconds time set, according to Guinness World Records.

Just recently, in time for the Valentine‘s day celebration, the previous longest kiss record of the German couple was broken by a Thai couple in Pattaya in southeasthern Thailand. The couple who won the competition were Laksana Tiranarat and Ekkachai who reportedly lasted 46 hours, 24 minutes and nine seconds.

“We didn’t think we would find anybody that could break the record,” said Somporn Naksuetrong, the manager of Pattaya‘s Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks museum.

The rule of the contest is not to part the couple’s lips at anytime. They are allowed to drink, but with the use of a straw while continuing the kiss. They need to remain embraced during bathroom breaks which will be accompanied by contest monitors. Aside from that, the participants are not allowed to sit or sleep. Despite all of these, Ekkachai and Laksana Tiranarat successfully won the challenge.

According to reports, the longest kiss record of Ekkachai and Laksana Tiranarat will still be verified by Guinness World Records for it to become official.

Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks museum was said to be under the management of Ripley’s World of Entertainment. Meanwhile, representatives of Guinness World Records were not immediately ready to comment, but it was said that Guinness was aware of the contest, according to Somporn Naksuetrong which organized the competition.
