The assembly of the last Ford Crown Victoria on September 15, 2011 has been documented and was posted in a Facebook page. The Facebook page was created intentionally to get 100 billion likes in support of keeping St. Thomas Assembly Plant open and producing vehicles.

Earlier reports said that the last Ford Crown Victoria being assembled on Thursday, September 15, 2011 marked the end of the big heavy Ford cars that have been popular with taxi fleets and police departments for decades.

According to reports, the closure of the Ford plant was announced in 2009. Workers were already aware of the closure but they have hopes it would stay open.

“It’s tough, it’s emotional, there’s a sense of numbness. I met a lot of good people over the years and to see it shutting down, breaks my heart, it really does,” Ford plant worker Dennis McGee was quoted saying in a report.

Here are some of the photos during the assembly of the last Ford Crown Victoria in Ontario, Canada.
