Larry The Cat, Guards UK Prime Minister’s Downing Residence against Rat Invaders

Larry the Cat was tasked to guard UK Prime Minister David Cameron’s Downing residence against rat invaders.  This was reported by UK news sites, February 16, 2011.

There were “sightings” of rodents in Downing Street that has prompted Cameron to enlist Larry’s services.  The Prime Minister’s two eldest children, Nancy Gwen and Arthur Elwen supported the enlistment of Larry, the cat.

Larry is from the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home and is responsible in ensuring that 10 Downing will soon be free of rodents.  According to the news reports, he will also be allowed to roam in no. 11.

The 4-year old cat is also expected to “charm” visitors, aside from fulfilling his ratting task.  Downing has acquired a new security staff in Larry, the cat.
