A Lamborghini on fire was captured on video after it went up in flames during a test drive on a highway near Aliso Viejo in San Joaquin Hills, Southern California on Sunday, April 15, 2012, according to reports by several international news sites.

While running along highway 73 in California, fire began at the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4‘s rear left tire.

The Lamborghini Aventador test driver reportedly pulled the car over on the shoulder and escaped without injury.

California firefighters, however, were unable to save the $400,000 car from the flames. The supercar is reportedly owned by a dealership.

Reports say that three lanes were closed along the highway as a result of the Lamborghini fire.

The Lamborghini Aventador is reportedly the fastest supercar ever built. Reports say that it can accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just under three seconds. A Lamborghini Aventador has a top speed of 217 mph.
