L.A. Lakers beats Denver Nuggets as Kobe Bryant involved teammates in offense

The L.A. Lakers beat the Denver Nuggets, 107-97 on Friday night at the Pepsi Center, Denver, Colorado , according to NBA.com. Kobe Bryant and five other LA players scored at least 15 points for the game.

Pau Gasol and Ron Artest each scored 19 points for the Lakers. Gasol registered his 24th double-double of the 2010-11 season as he pulled down 13 rebounds. Andrew Bynum continues to be consistent in offense as he scored 17 points.

Bryant involved his teammates in offense by dishing out seven (7) assists. He was later quoted saying: “Ultimately it’s my reads on when to attack and when not to attack. I know I can score at any moment or get looks at any moment and in the third quarter I was able to do that.” The third quarter was the turning point for the Lakers as Bryant scored 14 points and issued four assists as they opened up a 10-point lead going into the fourth quarter. Bryant had a total of 18 points at the end of the game.

The Lakers outrebounded the Nuggets, 47-27, as they were very aggressive in securing the boards at the defensive end.

Carmelo Anthony led the Nuggets with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Arron Afflalo had four 3-pointers and scored 16 points in the first half. However, he finished the game with 22 points as he had a hard time against the Lakers‘ defense in the second half.
