Manila, Philippines – Queen of All Media Kris Aquino announced she will run for governor of Tarlac in 2016 election, as reported on ABS-CBN news on Wednesday.

Kris, the youngest sister of President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III or PNoy said she will join politics, but clarified that she will only run after the term of his brother expires in 2016.

“I feel naman na bilang isang Aquino, whatever political career I hope to have in the future, it has to start in Tarlac.” Kris told ABS-CBN news.

The controversial TV host actress also said she wants to follow the footstep of veteran actress and now Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto.

“Hindi ko nakakalimutan ‘yong sinabi ng mom ko na if there is anybody in showbiz na I should be emulating its Ate Vi ‘yon. Kasi pagkatapos ng napakagandang karera niya sa industriya natin, nakapagbigay naman siya ng magandang serbisyo. Una sa Lipa (as mayor) and then after sa Batangas.” Kris explains.

(I always remember what my mom (late President Cory Aquino) told me, that if anybody that I should be emulating, it should be Ate Vi. After having a good career in the movie industry, she is now into giving good public service, first being a mayor of Lipa City and now in the entire province of Batangas.)

Kris Aquino is now busy in gift-giving activities in depressed areas in different cities and provinces for the spirit of Christmas season, along with fellow stars.

Among them is Diether Ocampo, her leading man on her latest film “Dalaw”, wherein Kris Aquino earlier confirmed that her estranged husband James Yap will have a cameo role.

‘Dalaw’ is the official entry of Star Cinema to the 2010 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2010, and will be shown starting December 25, 2010, Christmas Day.
