Kraft recall: Kraft Foods recalls Velveeta Shells & Cheese cups products

Kraft Foods announced on Friday, September 30, 2011 a voluntary recall of the three varieties of their Velveeta Shells & Cheese Single Serve Microwaveable Cups products.

As noted by Kraft Foods Global, Inc. on its official website, the Illinois-based global snacks company is issuing this voluntary recall as a safety precaution, with photos of sample products shown below.

According to Kraft‘s press release, the recalled products which were manufactured in Champaign, Illinois and Lakeville, Minnesota, could have contained small and thin wire bristle pieces.

Kraft noted that around 137,000 cases of these products were shipped across the US, but none of them were distributed in Canada.

As of this writing, Kraft said that there has been no injury reports related to this recall but the company strongly suggests that consumers who brought them should stop eating these products.

Likewise, consumers are being advised to immediately return them to their point of purchase and ask for a full refund. The “best when used by” date can be found at the bottom of the package.
