The New York Knicks lost against the New Jersey Nets on Monday, February 20, 2012, held at the Madison Square Garden, despite Carmelo Anthony and Baron Davis joining Jeremy Lin ‘Linsanity’ in the team.

As featured at NBA on Monday night, the New Jersey Nets won over the New York Knicks (100-92) and stopped the latter from winning their ninth win, despite the comeback of Carmelo Anthony and the introduction of Baron Davis.

Apparently, the Knicks led the scores after the first quarter (21-18) but the Nets pushed harder and finished the first half leading by eight points (50-42) until the third quarter, which ended with an 18-point lead (82-64).

On the fourth and final quarter, New York Knicks tried to get ahead by making 28 points against 18 of the New Jersey Nets but failed, with JetsDeron Williams seemed to be too strong and unstoppable especially in the third quarter.

Williams, who was fouled out with less than three minutes remaining, led the New Jersey Nets and made 38 points in the entire game, his season high, 18 of them were completed in the third quarter. He was followed by MarShon Brooks, who made 18 points and Kris Humphries with 14 points.

For the New York Knicks, Lin led the scores with 21 points and made 9 assists, followed by Amar’e Stoudemire with 17 points; Tyson Chandler had 14 points, while Carmelo Anthony had 11 points.

Lin, 23, rose to fame by leading the team with his career high statistics and skills, including a 3-point buzzer beater in the last second of the their game against Toronto Raptors (90-87) on February 14, their sixth straight win.

Carmelo Anthony missed the last seven games of his team, after having a groin injury. He was still not allowed to play last Sunday, when the Knicks won over Dallas Mavericks (104-97) and Lin made 28 points and a career high 14 assists.

On the other hand, point guard Baron Davis made his first appearance for the New York Knicks after signing a one-year contract last December 19, 2011, choosing the team over Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat, made 3 points only.
