Kim Cattrall, “The Kids Are All Right” are among the GLAAD Media Awards 2011 winners

Kim Cattrall and and film “The Kids Are All Right” are among the GLAAD Media Awards 2011 winners on Saturday, May 14, 2011, which was held at San Francisco Marriott Marquis.

As reported at GLAAD’s official website, “Sex and the City” star Kim Cattrall was given the Golden Gate award at the 22nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards (GLAAD Media Awards 2011).

According to the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), Kim Cattrall was awarded for her effort to increase the visibility and understanding the community of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT).

On the other hand, the lesbian family drama “The Kids Are All Right” won the Outstanding Film Award, which was received by its director Lisa Cholodenko.

The movie “The Kids Are All Right“, which stars Annette Bening who won the Best Actress award in Motion Picture Musical or Comedy in Golden Globe Awards 2010 for the said film, also won the Best Motion Picture Musical or Comedy that night.

The GLAAD Media Awards 2011 event was hosted by “Glee” star Naya Rivera and special guests and presenters include Broadway veterans Mario Lopez and Sara Ramirez.

Last month, Fox’ “Glee” and ABC’s “Modern Family” shared the Outstanding Comedy TV Series award during the 22nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards, held in Los Angeles.

On March 19, 2011, Latin singer Ricky Martin and Vampire TV drama series “True Blood” are among the winners at the GLAAD Media Awards 2011, held in New York.
