As noted at local news sites on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, Kabang, a female family dog, saved two girls when a motorcycle was about to hit them, and was the one hit and lost her nose as well as her upper lip.

According to reports, Kabang the hero dog is owned by a certain Rudy Banngal, who said that her niece and granddaughter were walking outside one night when a motorcycle suddenly appeared and was coming too fast.

Apparently, witnesses told reports that the dog came out of nowhere and jumped into the motorcycle’s path but her mouth was clipped on the roller and sprocket, and was dragged along the street.

Meanwhile, people started to visit Kabang after her story was featured in local TV news while some veterinarians offered help and gave her medicine and vitamins since the dog is also pregnant.

Later, the local government of Zamboanga City honored the heroism of Kabang, who is notably healthy despite having a deformed face, with local veterinarians now asking help from private organizations for a possible reconstructive surgery for the hero dog.
