Justin Rose wins BMW Championship 2011, joins Top 30 winners for $10-million prize FedExCup

Justin Rose won the BMW Championship 2011 on Sunday, September 18, 2011 and claimed his third PGA Tour title and now joins the Top 30 winners, with the complete list available below.

As noted by PGA Tour on its official website, Justin Rose chipped in for birdie on the 17th hole to secure a two-stroke win for the BMW Championship 2011 in Lemont, Illinois.

The 31-year old golfer from England, who closed with an even-par 71, also won $1.44 million and will play at Coca-cola Tour Championship 2011 next week at the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia.

“To win my third tournament feels like I’m sort of moving in the right direction, and to move to No. 3 on the FedEx Cup list and give myself control of my own destiny next week in Atlanta is something I didn’t foresee at the beginning part of the week,” Justin Rose was quoted at ESPN.

Meanwhile, John Senden from Australia and a one-time PGA Tour winner landed on the second place after coming from the 55th position in the FedExCup and moved all the way to ninth place in standings.

According to PGA Tour rule, the FedExCup points will be reset for the top 30 winners who will play in the Coca-cola Tour Championship 2011, which will be from September 22 to 25, 2011.

The total points each player earns based on his finish at will be added to his reset points, and the player with the highest point total will win the FedExCup, worth $10 million.
