Justin Bieber explained his ‘Michael Jackson’ comment during the American Music Awards (AMA) 2010 night, as published at MTV on Monday.

This was due to some confusion from the live audience when Justin Bieber mentioned the name of Michael Jackson, while he was receiving one of the four major awards he won on Sunday night.

“Without Michael Jackson, none of us would be here.” The teen age music idol and the youngest entertainer ever to won the Artist of the Year said on his acceptance speech.

When he was later interviewed by MTV, he cleared that when he said that line, what he meant was “Without Michael Jackson, we will still be here, but music wouldn’t be the same”.

“I want to clarify that you’d still be born. Michael‘s not your dad or anything. You’d still be here. He’s not your father.” He explained.

“I think that my fans have been such a supporting factor that, I mean, I couldn’t be doing this without them, so this has just been amazing. I owe it all to my fans, my family, and my friends.” The AMA 2010 Breakthrough Artist of the Year winner said.

Incidentally, Justin Bieber also won the Favorite Male Artist (Pop / Rock), and Favorite Album for his ‘My World 2.0’.
