American Jordan Romero, 15, sets a new record as the youngest climber in the world, as reported by various international news sites, December 25, 2011.

On Saturday, December 24, Romero has successfully climbed the 4,897m (16,067ft) peak of Vinson Massif in Antarctica.

Jordan Romero was also the youngest climber to scale Mount Everest, the tallest mountain, at age 13 in May 2010. He also climbed Mt Elbrus in Russia in July 2007, Mt Aconcagua in Argentina in December 2007, Mt McKinley in the US in June 2008, and Carstensz Pyramid in Indonesia in September 2009.

Romero is the world’s youngest climber to ascend the Seven Summits, namely: AfricaMt Kilimanjaro (5,892m; 19,340ft), Antarctica Vinson Massif (4,892; 16,050), Australia Mt Kosciuszko (2,228m; 7,310ft), Oceania Carstensz Pyramid (4,884m; 16,024ft), Asia Mt Everest (8,848m; 29,035ft), Europe Mt Elbrus (5,642m; 18,510ft), North AmericaMt McKinley (6,194m; 20,320ft), South AmericaAconcagua (6,962m; 22,841ft).
