Rally to Restore SanityThousands of Americans attended the Jon Stewart & Stephen Colbert Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear ,  The rally took place at at the National Hall at The National Mall, Washington, DC last Saturday, October 30. The rally was lead by Jon Stewart & Stephen Colbert both American political satirist, thru their widely known show, The Daily Show and Colbert Report, that airs on Comedy Central.

On the September 16, 2010, episode of The Daily Show, Stewart formally announced the “Rally to Restore Sanity”;  Colbert followed by announcing the “March to Keep Fear Alive” on the subsequent episode of The Colbert Report .

On September 28, Arianna Huffington proclaimed on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart that The Huffington Post would provide “as many buses as people to fill them” .

On October 14 episodes of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, it was officially announced that the “Rally To Restore Sanity” and the “March To Keep Fear Alive” have been consolidated into simply the “Rally To Restore Sanity and/or Fear”.

October 14, Oprah Winfrey made a special appearance on The Daily Show, offering tickets to the rally for everyone in the studio audience.

Invites and information dissemination has been made thru facebook , twitter and different American TV Shows.

Musical performers of the show includes , The Roots and John Legend, 4troops, Jeff Tweedy and Mavis , Staples, Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow , Ozzy Osbourne, Yusuf Islam ( formerly Cat Stevens ) and The O’Jays,  Tony Bennett.

The Rally is estimated to have about 200,000 attendees. The event was covered by different news agency in United States. I believed that the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear was a success.
