Johnny Depp proves to be the King of Box Office as his latest animated movie “Rango” tops the box office. This was reported by entertainments sites, March 7, 2011. Even as a lizard, movie fans did not fail him as the film raked an amazing $38 million over the weekend. The “Lizard King”, as he is fondly called by his children, teamed up with director Gore Verbinski and made an impressive adventure tale of a Wild West chameleon.

In the Paramount film, Depp takes the voice of an animated reptile “Rango”. According to him, this is “not your average kiddie movie”. Based on international movie reviews, adults and slightly older children will definitely have a great time. However, it may not be for young toddlers as it can be a little scary.

Following “Rango” is Universal’s “The Adjustment Bureau” which stars Matt Damon and Emily Blunt with $20.9 million ticket sales. On the third spot is “Beastly” starring Alex Pettyfer and Vanessa Hudgens which made a gross income of $10.1 million over the weekend.

Johnny Depp’s quirky choice of movies has definitely made him distinct and successful from his contemporaries. Some of his exemplary and surprising appearances include the Edward Scissorhands, Tim Burton’s Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland and Captain Jack Sparrow.

Meanwhile, even his co-star Isla Fisher is all-praise for Johnny Depp. According to her, she was working with the “second most beautiful man in the world”, that is of course, next to his husband.
