“Home Alone” House In Winnetka For Sale

The house, made famous by John Hughes‘ blockbuster film “Home Alone,” in Winnetka, Illinois is now on sale for $2.4 million, according to a press release by Coldwell Banker.

John and Cynthia Abendshien, owners of the 4,250 square foot, three-story North Shore home, bought the house for $875,000 in 1988.

The “Home Alone” house, built in the 1920’s, is located in the upscale East Winnetka area that is near the Metra train station, the Winnetka Community House, and other commercial establishments.

According to Coldwell‘s press release, the red-brick Georgian home has ‘four en suite bedrooms, including the attic bedroom – a dormered and finished retreat with numerous nooks and crannies and two grand suites.’
