As noted at ABS-CBNNews.com that day, funnyman Joey de Leon appeared on KrisTV and Kris Aquino, PNoy‘s youngest sister, admitted that it was a dream come true for her and recognized him as an idol.

De Leon, a member of the comedy trio “Tito, Vic and Joey“, gave Kris a copy of the Eat Bulaga! coffee table book titled “Ang Unang Tatlong Dekada” (The First Three Decades), pertaining to the 30 years of their TV show.

The daily noontime show “Eat Bulaga!” with co-hosts include Vic Sotto and his older brother, incumbent Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III started airing in local TV in 1979 on the former RPN 9 and transferred to ABS-CBN in 1989. It was transferred to GMA 7 in 1995, where it is still doing very well until now.

During the show, the 65-year old comedian-host shared his experience during his early years in ABS-CBN as a disc jockey back in 1968, and noted he then receives a monthly salary of P300.

Later on the show, Kris showed a recorded video of President Noynoy Aquino, or PNoy, who thanked him for his support for clean governance and advocacy for education, and acknowledged his contribution to the local entertainment industry.

“Pareng Joey de Leon, maraming salamat sa iyong pagtitiwala at pakikiisa sa ating tuwid na daan mula pa noong kampanya hanggang sa kasalukuyan,” PNoy said, who also thanked the comedian for his support to the Agap Silid Pangarap in Grace Park, Caloocan City last month.

(‘Brod’ Joey de Leon. Thank you very much for trusting me and supporting my advocacy for good governance since the election campaign up to this moment.)

“Talaga namang nakakabilib ang iyong tagumpay sa loob ng mahigit 3 dekada mula sa iyong mga programang nagbibigay aliw sa ating mga kababayan hanggang sa iyong adhikain para tulungan ang mga nangangailangan,” The president added.

(It is truly admirable that you have been successful in your more than 30 years of entertaining people, as well as your effort to help the needy.)
